Thank you for your interest in our Common Ground Farm Internship for 2016.
We are no longer accepting applications for this season. Please check back in 2017.

Calling college students, young adults, and aspiring farmers: Common Ground’s Urban Farm Interns work alongside our farm manager, taking part in every aspect of caring for our production gardens throughout the growing season. Interns dive into the work of planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, keeping records, fixing fences, and a variety of other tasks. They can also join in the care of our farm animals, including laying hens, broiler chickens, pigs, goats, and sheep. Because Common Ground is an educational farm, interns need to be good role models for children, and may have the opportunity to lead crews of teenagers.

Our Urban Farm Interns also help to manage our on-site farm stand and assist with additional markets and farm events — working alongside youth members of our Green Jobs Corps and providing fresh produce to our neighbors and the families who join in Common Ground’s summer caps. Depending on the interest and skills of the intern, there may be opportunity to help with our off-site mobile market and/or help host weekend events on the farm.

Internships are available on a rolling basis from April through October and are 20-25 hr per week. Compensation based on minimum wage and includes garden veggies. Internship includes admission to NOFA Summer conference, farm field trips and other learning opportunities.

Our Urban Farm Internship program has been built with the support of the MFUNd.
