Creating Urban Oases for People & Wildlife – Proposals Due April 1!

In 2013, New Haven was designated one of the nation’s first urban wildlife refuges by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Since then, Common Ground has been part of a strong collaboration — including Audubon Connecticut, the Urban Resources Initiative, the City of New Haven, tthe Long Island Sound Study, McKinney Wildlife Refuge, and others — to create urban oases for people and wildlife across our city.

Now, we are seeking two more sites for restoration efforts. Do you know a corner of our city that needs to be turned into an urban oasis? Grant funding and technical support are available to community groups who want to be part of this project!
