Mobile Market

Come visit the Mobile Market!

The Mobile Market directly serves New Haven’s most food-insecure neighborhoods and impacts positive change around food-insecurity-related public health issues through providing high-quality, hyper-local produce at subsidized prices directly to these affected communities.

Since 2012, the Mobile Market has brought healthy, affordable, locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables directly to low-income families and seniors in eight underserved New Haven neighborhoods.

Through the Mobile Market, we partner with over 10 community centers, senior residences, libraries, Elm City Communities, Alder Honda Smith, and Cornell Scott Hill Health to bring produce to neighborhoods without grocery stores or farmer’s markets at reduced prices. The Mobile Market intentionally partners with organizations, agencies, and individuals that are deeply embedded in the communities where they exist.

Accepted payment includes SNAP, WIC and Senior/Disability Farmers Market Nutrition Program cards, cash, and credit card payments. In 2024, 80% of our total income was from SNAP users and Senior and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program redemptions. Additionally, SNAP recipients receive 50% off of every dollar they spend through a partnership with CitySeed.

The Mobile Market sources from 7 different local small farms, including our own, all within a 20-mile radius, ensuring the freshest produce possible while also investing in our regional growers.

Come visit the market, grab some fresh, tasty fruits and veggies, and make it a vibrant part of your neighborhood this season.

The Mobile Market would not be possible without our partners at Cornell Scott Hill Health Center, Mary Wade Home, New Haven Public Library, Alder Honda Smith, City Seed, The Towers, City of New Haven Elderly Services Department, and Elm City Communities.
