Our Campus
Common Ground’s unique place — 20 acres of city park land, on the edge of West Rock Ridge State Park, within the City of New Haven — is at the root of everything we do. Our work - The Common Ground High School is a program of the New Haven Ecology Project, a non-profit organization that also operates a community environmental education center and urban farm on the same site - starts here and ripples outward.
Sustainable Design
Watch seven short student-produced videos, sharing sustainable design principles at work in Common Ground’s new Springside Center, and learn about other ways that Common Ground is trying to live out our commitment to sustainable change.

The Common Ground Geospatial Project by Maxwell K. Pina
For Maxwell’s Senior project he created a fully constructed 3 Dimensional Model of the school with two different repositories and two different versions.
It took Max 173 collective hours to model and two additional months to learn the pieces of software, Blender and QGIS.
He made an Opentopography.org Professional Account to access the 1-meter resolution DEM (digital elevation model) Data.
Facts about Maxwell Pina:
He makes maps, he adores architecture, and is a soon to be, if not already, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist.
