How to host a fundraiser for Common Ground

Thank you for wanting to support Common Ground by hosting a fundraiser!

Before the event

  • Decide what kind of event you would like to have.

  • Pick a date, time, and place.

  • Promote the event

    • We suggest creating a Personal Fundraising Page. These pages can be shared on social media and via email. You can use these at your event or use it to help raise money on!

    • Our Style Guide is here so that you can include our logo and colors it in all of your marketing.

  • If you would like to have a Common Ground staff or board member at your event please contact the Development Team.

    • We ask that you let us know at least two weeks in advance so that we can schedule to be there. (This is not a guarantee we can make it.)

    • If you would like Common Ground swag (pens, magnets, etc), please let us know.

During the event

  1. Tell your guests what Common Ground does and where their money is going. 

  2. Let them know why you support us.

  3. Encourage your guests to donate and attend our events.

  4. Take photos and post about the event and be sure to tag us in the photos and comments. We would love to include you in our newsletter and social media posts.

After the event

  1. Once all the funds are collected there are you few different ways how to get the money to Common Ground. 

    1. Check – Please make the check out to New Haven Ecology Project and mail it to

    2. Card - Online through our donation page.

    3.  In-person – email our Development Team to arrange a time for you to drop off the money
